Creating a more circular Merton

Helping the community to reduce waste locally by giving them the tools and skills they need.

We are Merton's waste reduction & circular economy project.

At Sustainable Merton, we're working to reduce consumption based waste in our local area. We want to support every Merton resident, business and school to reduce, reuse, repair, recycle and rethink waste. That's where The Wheel comes in.

The Wheel is helping to build a circular economy in Merton. A circular economy moves away from throw away culture to create a community that reuses and shares resources, keeping useful materials in circulation for as long as possible. This eliminates waste, but also saves money, and protects natural habitats from the extraction of new materials. A circular economy is a tool for tackling the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, and pollution, all at the same time!

So join us at a friendly Repair Café, grow your sewing skills at our Preloved Studio, and learn about the local  services preventing all types of waste from ending up in the rubbish bin.

"Mentally, best thing that's ever happened to me. I really enjoyed working with everyone on the Canons upcycling project"
