About the event

In Part 2 of this exciting 2-part workshop, RE-RUNN founder, Sakina, will give an introduction to her process of re-constructing leisurewear. You will learn how to approach combining and reassembling de-constructed pieces to create a new-upcycled garment.

At the end of this workshop you will have designed and created your own leisurewear item. Attendees are welcome to come to a free social sewing drop-in session at the Preloved Studio on a Tuesday if they need additional time to finish their re-construction.

Sign up for the full 2-part workshop by visiting the Part 1 registration page.

Workshop skill level: Improver (you already have basic sewing machine skills under your belt.)

Meet your workshop facilitator: Sakina O'Neill

Sakina created RE-RUNN after many years as Head of Design working in the fashion industry, supplying major High Street brands and retailers. While travelling the world, both designing and overseeing production, Sakina witnessed first-hand the excessive wastefulness of the industry and felt compelled to play some part in the solutions to this unsustainable model. She sought ways to extend the life of existing garments, that otherwise end up as landfill, to reduce fashion’s negative environmental impact.

Important Information for Workshop Attendees:

This workshop is in two parts: Part 1 on 7th February (1pm - 3:30pm) and Part 2 on 14th February (10am - 3:30pm). Please only sign up for this workshop if you can attend both sessions. By signing up to this workshop you are automatically enrolled in Part 2.

This workshop is suitable for people who already have basic sewing machine skills and experience of using an overlocker.

Sewing tools and equipment are provided by the Preloved Studio during the sessions.

Please clean and iron your fabrics before you bring them to the studio to work on. Some Preloved Studio fabric scraps and remnants may be available for you to use.

Thank you to RE-RUNN for organising this Workshop.
