Join us at our new Preloved Studio for a free community workshop in our latest instalment of Project Preloved. 

In this workshop, you will learn how to create your own Pin Cushion, or Victorian Sewing Kit. Sometimes called a 'Housewife' or 'Hussif', this Victorian-style travel sewing kit has space to hold all your sewing tools for when you're on the go. The Pin Cushion needs no introduction, as one of the most useful and iconic items in anyone's sewing kit! The project reduces textiles waste by using donated preloved fabrics, such as bed linens, that are often not accepted by charity shops. Not only that, but you'll make some new sewing friends along the way! 

If choosing to make a beautiful Pin Cushion, you will be shown how using hand sewing techniques.  For more confident hand sewers, you could choose to make the Victorian Sewing Kit by hand, or if…
