Fashion Reimagined Screening (plus panel discussion)

Sustainable Merton are excited to present the brilliant documentary, Fashion Reimagined as part of our free events during the Sustainable Fashion Week Community Fringe.

Fashion Reimagined follows Amy Powney's journey as a Designer who wants to create a sustainable collection from field to finished product, and to confront audiences to challenge the way we consume fashion.

Amy Powney of cult label Mother of Pearl is a rising star in the London fashion scene. Raised off-the-grid in rural England by activist parents, Amy has always felt uneasy about the devastating environmental impact of her industry. When she wins the coveted Vogue award for the Best Young Designer of the Year, which comes with a big cash prize, Amy decides to use the money to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment, and transform her entire business. Over the following three years, her own personal revolution becomes the precursor of a much bigger, societal change.

Public Transport

The building is a short bus ride from Colliers Wood, Tooting Broadway and Morden Underground stations.

Bus routes: 118, 127, 200, 201, S1, N44.

The venue is five minutes' walk from Mitcham Tramlink Station, with links to Croydon and Wimbledon.

Parking

There is free off-street parking at Cricket Green, Glebe Path, Whitford Gardens, Albert Road and Langdale Avenue. There are three parking bays for Blue Badge holders just outside Vestry Hall.
